The shelter is located with a beautiful view of Kældermose on the south side of Hampen Lake, which is one of the country's cleanest lakes. The shelter can be booked on this page. It can accommodate 4 people.
Near the site there is a fire pit and a forest locomotive. There is no drinking water.
It is allowed to gather branches on the forest floor for firewood, but trees may not be felled.
The shelter site must be left cleaned, and all waste must be brought out of the forest. Remember to put out the fire before you leave the shelter site!
Fishing is not allowed in Hampen Lake for anyone other than the landowners. Bathing may only take place from the beaches at the west end and northwest corner of the lake.
Directions:
The site is found by following "Søvej" from the parking lot between Nr. Snede and Viborg at the west end of the lake south of the lake and past Søhus. About 900 m after the parking lot, the overnight site comes on the right (south of the forest road). The site can also be found from the Hærvej route through Palsgård Forest. Where the route crosses "Palsgårdsvej" turn west. Immediately west of Vester Palsgård (the closed forest museum, former forester's farm) follow the road on the right to the north.
