La Locanda dei Liberati is a critically acclaimed Italian restaurant in Aalborg, which offers authentic and delicious Italian food. The Roman owner, Carlo Liberati, takes part in preparing the traditional, Italian dishes with a personal twist.
La Locando welcomes you into an intimate and pleasant restaurant, located in one of the oldest half-timbered buildings of Aalborg from the 17th century called ‘Brix Gaard’. The menu is based on ingredients of the season to ensure that you will always get an exciting taste experience.
Authentic, Italian atmosphere
Before La Locando opened its doors, the old and famous building needed renovation. To ensure the authentic, Italian feel, the place was decorated with Italian, square tiles from the 17th century and carefully selected ceramics in rustic style. Carlo Liberati also hired a team of Italian pavers to create the right Italian pattern in the yard. That way, La Locanda dei Liberati is now a small piece of Italy in the heart of Aalborg.
La Locanda dei Liberati
‘Locando’ means ‘inn’ and Liberati is Carlos’ lastname and means ‘the liberated one’. The name La Locanda dei Liberati fits the restaurant perfectly, since the place is Carlos’ sanctuary where he gets to prepare the food he loves.
The wine list offers you lots of tasty wines, mostly from Tuscany and Piemonde, but the restaurant also serves more or less unknown Italian wines. The waiters are familiar with all of the wines on the wine list, and they are happy to help you select the right ones for different dishes.
Distinguished nomination
Den Danske Spiseguide (a Danish Food Guide) has nominated La Locanda dei Liberati for the distinguished award Årets spot (Spot of the Year): Best 2015 Ristorante Autentico Italiano Rustico Roots. The restaurant is one out of three nominated Italian restaurants in Denmark. Furthermore, the biggest restaurant guide of Denmark, White Guide, has also recommended the place.
The restaurant recommends that you book a table in advance.
