The site is located at Vilsted Clubhouse. Around the lake, paths have been laid out for horseback riding, cyclists and pedestrians. Nature can be experienced on foot along the 20 km long path around the lake. 9 km of the footpath is just a mowed path in the grass.
A bike ride around the lake is 20-25 km depending on where the trip begins and whether the trip goes via Holmen. The bike ride is on gravel paths, farm roads and on asphalt. Riders are accommodated with an approx. 13 km long bridle path along the north side of the lake, which also goes past the shelter site in Vilsted.
At Ranum Søhus there is a horse paddock that can be used freely. Around the lake there is a rich plant and animal life, just as it is possible to rent disabled boats, which are based at the boat berth in Vilsted.
It is possible to spend the night in handicap-friendly shelter sites, both in Vilsted and on the peninsula Holmen.
