"Trossen" is part of five works that tell about Frederikshavn's proximity to the sea.
Henrik Rosendal was born on 17 May 1932 in Thorshøj near Sæby and has had a long career as both a folk high school teacher and a hymn writer. He gained great recognition for his love song "You Came With Everything That Was You," which was written in 1981. The song is inspired by Rosendal's deep feelings for the friend he lived with for 20 years, after he had broken off his marriage to follow his sexual orientation. This song has become one of the most beloved in the Danish folk song tradition and is a powerful expression of personal love.
On the occasion of Frederikshavn's 200th anniversary of the market town, the City Foundation has given the city five works of art, which can now be seen at Lodstorvet. Created by photographer Linda Suhr of Suhr Production, these works add a visual dimension to the city's celebration. Rosendal's significant contribution to Danish culture and song tradition supports the artistic heritage that Frederikshavn cherishes.
