The church was built in 1992.

Church rooms, meeting rooms and offices are grouped around a courtyard. Free-standing bell tower with pelican pecking itself to blood. This wind wing refers to Asmild church and parish, from which Houlkær parish is separated. Bright church room with modern furniture.
