The hostel in Skivum is furnished with 10 beds in a shared dormitory. There are toilet and shower facilities as well as a kitchen and dining area and a couple of cozy chairs. Guests must bring their own sleeping bags and food for their own consumption.
With these simple principles, they try to create some of the atmosphere known from the pilgrimage routes – i.e.: to create space for hikers and pilgrims who set out with very different motives – people who seek the spiritual, the cultural-historical or who just want to move around in the open landscape. You do not have to plan your trip in detail, but try to live in the moment as a disconnect from the modern calendar-fixated working life.
The project to establish the shelter in Skivum is supported by the Realdania Foundation and the Danish Outdoor Council.
