KIRK Gallery is now continuing with the eighth gable painting as part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the gable painting project 'Out in the Open'.
The highly acclaimed Spanish artist Manolo Mesa has just arrived, who today is known worldwide for his large still life gable paintings, where he has taken up this ancient craft and brought it into a contemporary urban context by virtue of ceramics and porcelain, often found in the place where he works.
About the works, the artist says:
"In the objects we find a built-in meaning in themselves, by virtue of the importance we already attach to them.
Through the objects, we find a connection with space and the everyday objects we use, something found, something inherited, anonymous and at the same time full of words that contain a familiar theme."
