Hotel Nor is beautifully situated in the middle of the magnificent west coast nature at the top of the Lien slope. Here is a unique view of the North Sea and beyond Jammerbugten.
Hotel Nor was built in 1918 by Ludvig Elsass, who was director and co-owner of Sophus Berendsen A / S. We can thank his vision and uncompromisingness for the luxurious summer home Sanden Bjerggaard, which today forms the heart of Hotel Nor - Badehotellet.
In 2018, new owners acquired the hotel and it has now reopened after an extensive renovation under the new name Hotel Nor - Badehotellet. The renovation has taken place in deep respect for the spirit of the original 100-year-old rich man's villa and in respect for the surrounding nature. The color palette inside and out thus reflects the hotel's unique location by the sea and dunes.
The location in the today totally protected area Sanden, high above Slettestrand makes it possible for hotel guests from many of the rooms and the restaurant to enjoy the unique view of Jammerbugten and Slettestrand. It was this view that got Mr. Elsass to acquire the area and build his villa here 100 years ago. .
Sanden is one of the highest points on the many kilometers long ridge that stretches from Fosdalen, along Lien and through Svinkløv Plantage to the protected area Grønne Strand.
